@thebreastchapter: Apparently a leaf blower was my final straw this week. 😭 Cancer update + hormone therapy update because there is A LOT happening over here. I got my Zoladex shot, and the emotions have been EMOTIONING. One second I’m irritated, the next I’m angry, and then suddenly I’m crying over a leaf blower. So… we’re doing great. 🫠 At my oncology appointment Friday, we talked through the next phase of treatment. I finally got my letrozole prescription sorted out and took my first dose yesterday evening. Kisqali is a little more complicated. My white blood cell count is already low, and Kisqali can lower it even further, so we don’t want to jump into it without making sure my body is ready. I also never had an echo after finishing chemo, and because Kisqali can have cardiac effects, my oncologist wants to make sure my heart looks good too. So for now: repeat labs + an echo, and then we’ll decide whether Kisqali is the right move or whether we need to switch to Verzenio. And listen… I’m REALLY hoping Kisqali works out because the amount of diarrhea stories I have heard about Verzenio has me like absolutely not. 💩 We also had a BIG conversation about whether I want to continue Zoladex injections for the next several years or have my ovaries removed instead. My oncologist is okay with me exploring surgery, so after doing a ton of research, my next step is making an appointment with a gynecologic oncologist to talk through ovary removal and what that would actually look like for me. And THIS is where I need my community. 🤎 If you’ve taken letrozole, Kisqali, or Verzenio, tell me your experience… the good, the bad, the weird, ALL of it. And if you chose to have your ovaries removed, I especially want to hear from you. How was surgery? Recovery? How did you feel afterward? Would you make the same decision again? Drop it in the comments because I know I’m not the only person trying to make these decisions, and your experience might help someone else reading too. 🤎 Another chapter of figuring this shit out as we go. 🎀 p.s. idk how I got that scab on my nose 👃🏻 #breastcancer #cancertok #BreastCancerAwareness

I can’t get over how much you look like Halsey. The face is what makes you look like her but then you went and got your damn head shaved and now you are her fucking twin.

I had hysterectomy done like 5-6 years ago due to endometriosis and thank god one ovary left and girl I’m at 53 years old and I wouldn’t suggest taking your ovaries out! Im doing vaginal cream to have estrogen and a cream for my vulvar and it’s painful if I don’t use that one cream .sex life went down hill but my husband understands. But that’s me.

I had a total hysterectomy at 32 years old and use a hormone replacement patch. It was a great decision for me and I haven’t had any big issues. The recovery was honestly smooth and wasn’t as hard as previous surgeries I had.

I had a total hysterectomy 3 years ago at 46 years old when i was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. It sucked at first due to hormones trying to regulate but now, I'm good and best decision ever. This is the 3rd time I've dealt with cancer though so I'm kind of a pro. lol

I'm on letrozole and verzenio. With letrozole the main side effects are hair thinning and fatigue. The diarrhea is not that bad

Guerrera

I have been on letrazol and the worse side effects are hair thinning and intense foot pain. I did have diarrhea on verzenio but it goes away after a few weeks and then you just have to be careful what you eat

Verzenio was rough! I dosed down to 100 mg and did really well. I adjusted and have few side effects. I also take Anastrozole instead of Letrozole.

It took me a year to finally get my ovaries out, my insurance would not cover it…my dr fought so hard and it was finally approved. Initially it was only going to be my ovaries however once she started operating she found a significant amount of endometriosis so she also removed my tubes. Recovery wasn’t that bad. I am still on anastrozole but not having to get the Zolidex is great, continuing to go back to the cancer center monthly was so triggering for me.

I did the shot in my hiney every month for 5 years and I am happy with that choice. after a while, it didn't phase me at all. I didn't even care about the shot. and I was a major shot-phobic. something about the needle piercing my muscle just grossed me right out.

Total hysterectomy here. For me it was an outpatient surgery and I didn’t even need any pain meds after I left the hospital. The hardest part for me was the recovery and taking it easy bc I felt so good.

I’m 33 and on Zoladex for breast cancer, but the depression and anxiety have become unbearable. Has anyone else felt this way or decided to stop taking it? What other options are there? I’m miserable

I did my first injection. I’m doing in every 3 months. No side effects for me. Well for now 🤣 I work in Florida but get my treatments in Canada as I’m Canadian 🤣 I’m on anastrozole to lower my ER. Should be starting radiation soon. Then Natalee trial pills as my oncotype score was low I didn’t need chimo. But yes please help a future person for side effects. Thank you for helping through my journey ❤️your doing good mama and being very strong ❤️
