TV and film do NOT do the lore justice on just how fucked the Republic was in the last decade or so before Palpatine took control. Basically if you weren't in the core worlds, you were getting scraps for resources and help. its really no wonder the CIS rose. probably would have without his influence just in another form.

What I remember about the rise of the Empire is.... how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, we the 501st were discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word.

What’s funny is anakin did actually bring balance to the force. With just the Jedi existing and practically no sith the force was MASSIVELY out of balance and cutting down the Jedi’s numbers put it back.

yes Shiv Palpatine had a lot to do with the corruption and the fall of the jedi but the jedi were also to arrogantly reliant on the republic and politics when jedi should be more focused on being loving and caring and compassionate and selfless and its alright to have attachments as long as your not obsessive or jealous and its alright for jedi to fall in love and have kids or at least thats the way it should be the republic and the jedi order got destroyed because of there own hubris
