🐬Free 6-lesson FOUNDATIONS beginners Online Swimming Journey - check my bio link :) Hey hey! Here is a back float video! About 90% of people should be able to start their back float like this. Most people think they're unable to float, but it's actually just that they're starting the whole process badly. Some common examples are: falling back from a height, pushing too strongly off the floor, starting it with your arms above your head, or lifting the feet off the floor too early. Also, most people who think they cannot float, just need to be told to actually hold the biggest possible breath they can! Our breath is actually the ONLY thing we can control at any moment, that helps us to float. Literally the only thing. More air = more floaty. Hold as much as you can if you need to. Second to that, our POSTURE determines how flat/horizontal we are capable of being on the water. Everyone has a 'Natural Position' in the water, based on their Body Type (in my system, there are 6 different body types). Some people can float effortlessly (it can be overpowering!!) whilst, on the other end of the spectrum, some people are so dense (high muscle, dense bone, and low bodyfat) that they're actually unable to float at all, they will sink, no matter what! This method of starting the back float should work for about 90% of people, although not everyone will become as 'horizontal' as I demonstrate here - it's fine if you're legs just drop down a bit. If that's your natural position, that's great, and nothing can be done about it :) For people who actually truly sink, a tiny percentage of people, different techniques need to be used, and I'll be sharing more about these soon 👀🙌🐬 #swimming #learntoswim #swimmingtips #watersafety #backfloat
