Just like in Godfather, dude went in the restroom, retrieved the pistol and then he came out and whacked Tony. It was Eugene Pontecorvo’s brother-in-law who pulled off the unsanctioned hit at the request of Eugene’s widow. She hated him.

I have said it so many times- there is no evidence he got taken out. I believe that the point of the end was to show that the life would never let him stop looking over his shoulder. His paranoia in the end was the same as it was in the beginning, even after all his enemies were gone. Also, it is a common theme that nobody was taken out in front of their family in that way. Not always but most of the time. David Chase was always true to the authenticity he learned.

He definitely died 100 percent. There’s no theory makes any sense other than that. From his pov going black. To the members only jacket guy coming from his right side “3:00” the door were he’s waiting for medow Tony’s “12:00”. He died.

The audience was wacked. That’s why everything went black for us. We never saw anything in the show thru Tony’s eyes so why would we see him getting wacked thru his eyes.
