As a psychologist, I think doctors tend to forget that neuroplasticity literally exists, which is the brain's ability to reorganize and rewire its neural connections to change, grow, and adapt throughout life. Your brain builds new connections when you learn new information or practice a skill making frequently used pathways become faster and stronger through repeated use. Mom, you kept stimulating her new pathways and made her walk, I hope you're proud of yourself.🥹🤍

Hey my special needs kiddo didn’t talk till he was almost 9. Then he just decided he was gonna! Now he says tons of word and even full sentences! They sometimes just have their own timeline 💕

My parents were told the same thing before choosing to adopt me after I’d been beaten nearly to death as a newborn. I’m a mom. I run a farm. I was a multi sport athlete and have hiked mountain canyons, swam in the sea and seen the Milky Way from my car windshield. The world waits for her. Hang tough mama, and do it all. 🫶🏻

My little brother wasn’t suppose to ever speak but as a little girl, I didn’t understand so I tried everyday. And when he graduated HS with honors and a medal in English, he waited for me in his cap and gown to come home from work for pictures.
