I agree with patchouli being fine unless it’s the main character and I’d say the same about leather/suede. It can work as a note (see: Hibiscus Mahajad by Crivelli) but I find it stifling as the main focus.

Patchouli when over done smells like decomposition to me. It's gotta be blended just right. I get it. I agree about grape also but I've found the perfect blend with grape recently. Try "Violetta Honeywine" by @alpluschemy. The grape is barely detectable but adds just the perfect depth.

I’m trying to not be as much of a patchouli hater lol. I used to work retail and we would get clothes that had that smell on it and I immediately associate it with BO 🥲
