@gigaqian: August 30, 2026: NASA just launched a space telescope built around a mirror originally made for a U.S. spy satellite program. Roman can see at least 100 times more sky than Hubble in a single view, and its surveys could uncover roughly 100,000 new planets beyond our solar system while mapping billions of galaxies. It even carries technology designed to block the overwhelming light from stars so we can see some of the much fainter planets hiding beside them. And the government didn’t give NASA just one of these Hubble-sized telescope systems. It gave them two. Roman is using one. The other still has no funded mission. For decades, this kind of technology was designed to look down at our world. Now one of those mirrors is headed outward to help us find other worlds. #NASA #Space #Astronomy #newtechnology #gigaqian
