That is $1,000 a month that could go toward rent, groceries, or anything else. The bottom half of income earners in this country pay only 3% of all taxes. We could find 3%. It is a small number for the government. And he is right. It makes no sense. You go to school for four or more years to become a doctor, a physician, a nurse. You spend 50 to 60 hours a week in a hospital saving lives. Then your paycheck arrives and 45% of it is already gone. January, February, March working for the IRS. April, May, June still working for the IRS. Sometimes into July before a single dollar is actually yours. This is not how the tax system was supposed to work. The people who dedicate their lives to helping others should not be the ones getting squeezed the hardest. The tax code has strategies written into it that most W-2 earners never find out about. That is the problem worth solving.

There isn’t a nurse in queens making 75k. Nurses make a lot of money. People use nurses for an example because they think they are underpaid. Fun fact. Nursing is a 2 year degree. If they choose 4 they can but only need a 2 year degree. Educate yourselves.
