it's so absolutely annoying because i know all the basics—i love myself, i'm confident in my skin, i can empathize with the struggles of others, i can comfort people now. i know what it feels like to be social and have a group of friends and people to talk to on a daily basis, i know what it feels like to be loved. but for the past year or so it's been so difficult to care about anyone. intellectually i give them the benefit of the doubt, they've lived experiences i haven't and explored interests i'm unfamiliar with so logically there IS depth and potential in most people, but i can't bring myself to reach it. i already know i don't care about it, why exert the effort at all? i used to love people, i used to want lots of friends. now i just feel this mind-numbing apathy and boredom when i "get to know" people, and it feels like pulling teeth sharing anything about myself. do i want to overcome this feeling? i don't know
