@twoparentsandapod: Short answer: NO 🫠 (especially if they're EXPLICITLY not invited) Long answer: there's almost always a way to make it work — but that's on YOU to figure out, not the bride 🫡 And if you can't?? It's totally okay to sit this one out 🫶 #twoparentsandapod #weddingetiquette #newmom #wedding #hostessduties
Literally just don’t go to the wedding. I don’t get it.

We had at least 6 babies of friends who were all under a year old in our general peripheral - if we’d let all those friends bring those children to our super small wedding in a super small chapel… can you imagine the baby symphony? Like we love your kids - but they’re not gonna remember the wedding, so why’s it a big deal?

One perspective- when motherhood is treated as a reason women cannot participate in social spaces, rather than something those spaces should accommodate, it reproduces an old pattern of excluding women because of caregiving and reproductive realities.

This feels like one of those sacrifices you’re just gonna have to make if you’re gonna exclusively breastfed.. the answer is no.

I had a no kids wedding- and I was no way going to tell somebody they can’t bring their newborn omg. If you want them at your wedding, the baby comes too. That’s a bit fucked lol

“No kids” at our wedding did NOT include breastfed babies. I think it’s totally okay to ask the bride if you aren’t pushy about it and be respectful of the answer is no

If it's a no kids wedding and I'm breastfeeding we stay home and send them my best wishes 🤷🏻♀️why ppl think if they give birth they are entitled to be exceptions? saying it as my third on the way...

More power to those that exclusive Breast-feed …. But you are volunteering giving up certain things then. And a no kids wedding is one of them.

Decline the invite! The bride and groom will understand. Why is this even a thing?

This is a question to be asking the couple. We had a kid free wedding but I would have been absolutely fine with breast fed babies coming. I don't think it's fair to expect a mother to not feed her child, and I don't think it's fair for her to be excluded because of it.

Wedding invites are not something that is sent the day before normally months. Think ahead mamas and get them used to a bottle.

I would never give up exclusively breast feeding just to go to someone’s wedding. I will gladly stay home. And if it’s someone I’m extremely close to and they couldn’t imagine me not there, then compromises will have to be made. Whether on my end or the brides, but prob both 🤷🏻♀️

Honestly I feel it’s very important to introduce your child to a bottle at a very young age. What if something happens to you and you can’t nurse your baby? 😳

I don’t understand peoples obsession with wanting to bring their kids to weddings. I didn’t even bring my kids if it wasn’t kid free. That was a mom and dad date night for us to enjoy.

My friend became basically estranged from her brother over this. She had given birth the week before, and he wouldn't let the baby come to the wedding. Her Cousins ended up taking turns holding the baby outside the ballroom. It was ridiculous

Hard disagree. Newborns should be allowed at weddings, this is so mean for women who breastfeed
