@ericcrackschina: The Reverse Acquisition: Why Your Favorite Brands are Now Chinese 🇨🇳💼 Western founders often believe their rich brand heritage and marketing storytelling will protect them from overseas competition. But as a cross-cultural investor and supply chain expert, I see the endgame of global trade playing out differently: The Reverse Acquisition. In this video, I break down how Chinese mega-corporations are moving beyond OEM assembly by quietly acquiring legacy Western brands like Volvo and GE Appliances. Discover the genius behind the "supply chain transplant"—keeping the R&D and heritage in the West while plugging the production into China's hyper-efficient industrial matrix. Learn why relying on a logo is no longer a defense, and the exact supply chain questions every brand owner must ask to survive this new era of reverse globalization. #EricOnChina #EricSourcing #SupplyChain #GlobalTrade #SourcingExpert #SourcingAgent #ChinaSourcing #SourcingChina #SourcingTips #BuyerInsights #GlobalBusiness #Manufacturing #ChinaBusiness
This is what major global players have always done, it never lasts for ever, in 50 years there will be a new country doing to China what China is doing now.

Not sure if you can just buy brand or a trust. One of main reasons I personally didn’t buy Volvo is because it’s not a Volvo any more.

Chinese investors and firms own or have majority stakes in roughly 3,000 to 5,000 companies in the United States. China-origin patent applicants filed roughly 54,129 patent applications at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in recent annual data (2024), a massive increase from about 548 in the year 2000.
