The parents actors did a good job being very annoying. They boiled everything down to white vs black without considering Hal Jordan’s struggles and origin. Guardians mentioned testing many people, that could’ve included other white candidates who were afraid. I know we’ll see more about this issue in the upcoming episodes.

I really, REALLY love how his mom tried putting it in his head that Hal’s “white privilege” is why he was chosen. Like it felt natural and raw. It didn’t feel forced or fictional.

Summary of the Episode: The Guardians deserved the hate Hal has for them and for Sinestro killing a Guardian. They felt like how Jeff Bazos treats his workers, disposable when they don't follow orders.

John is great but I don’t understand the need to put Hal down. Hal and John are great friends in the comics. They had a rocky start in 70s and 80s but post crisis especially during the Gheoff Johns their relationship was great and has remained so. It’s like we’re getting John Stewart as the expense of Hal and personally that’s an issue for me. Hal is the definitive GL. He always will be and the beauty of GL comics is that even though Hal is the main lead we see other lanterns throughout the story. John, Guy, Jessica, Kyle, etc.
