Idk smoking is part of the glorified image of thinness in a lot of media especially like some of the images you’ve shared of 90s top models. It may go against clean girl and some of the more maha aspects of wellness but it is still very in the pursuit of an aesthetic

as a former smoker , 4 months clean , celebs smoke because it curbs appetite , they usually abuse substances so smoking is habitual with substance use , they have anxiety , its not rebellion is coping mechanisms. we seeing more of it now due to the skinny culture taking over hollyweird

It’s the difference between being pretty and being photogenic. It’s why some models and people look amazing in portraits and mid irl and some people look bad in photos and amazing irl. People are optimizing for photogenic at the expense of pretty. Eg lip fillers look great in a still photo, bizarre irl.

this blew my mind. but as someone who works a lot with cancer and copd patients, calling the effects of smoking "damage" almost sounds like a euphemism. it's too gentle. having an extremely painful and fatal disease is the worst of any body horror. if you needed a sign to quit, please take this as a sign.

This has to be rage bait, you are too intelligent to put a take like this out into the world and omit one of the primary drivers behind the resurgence of smoking. The current beauty standard values thinness above all else and smoking is a tried and true appetite suppressant. Everyone is emulating the late 90s early 2000s extreme thinness, the conformity they are chasing is rooted in having as little body fat as possible.
