Then my drone emergency-landed across the water. 8.8 km - 3 h 20 min - terrain steep and difficult - drone recovered 📍 MARTIN'S HEAD, NEW BRUNSWICK 🌊 Tide: Rainfall and Quiddy River drainage can leave water across the route even around predicted low tide. Check current Canadian Hydrographic Service predictions before leaving. 🚗 Access: The remote approach follows Goose Creek Road from the Shepody Road corridor. The final descent is steep and unmaintained; passenger vehicles should use the upper turnaround and walk down. 🥾 Terrain: Loose cobbles, tidal gravel, possible wading, a substantial climb back and unreliable cellular coverage. 📜 Place: Martin's Head is a cobblestone tombolo beside the Quiddy River estuary, known for roughly 250-million-year-old Triassic redbeds, traces of a nineteenth-century sawmill settlement, an old sawdust bank and a former lighthouse site. 🍔 Afterward: Kelly's Bake Shop was our sticky-bun stop.
