My kids middle school had this rule. I emailed EVERYONE at the school and told them no and threatened legal action if it was enforced. It's ludicrous.

what an opportunity this man has to set an example of what to do when you were wrong. this man has a beautiful opportunity to acknowledge what he did was wrong, and correct his actions going forward. he's a young teacher with a lot of career left. this moments can completely reshape his career for the good, if he humbles himself and allows it to.

I actually got kidney stones and sepsis in school because of a teacher's bathroom policy. I literally didn't have time to go to my locker between most classes due to location of classes and lockers how would I have time to use the bathroom?!

no it’s not raigebait at my school some teacher don’t let you go at all one of my teachers say that he don’t give passes and you have to go before or after and some teachers give out only 3passes also and they won’t let you go after you use all 3

I had a teacher that wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom and I had to pee so bad it was 10/10 an emergency. We were presenting projects in front of the class that day. I kept asking because it was so bad but she told me to wait until lunch. It was my turn to present now…… I peed my pants in front of my entire class… if that wasn’t bad enough I went to a strict dress code school and the only pants the nurse had to give me were sweats which were not allowed. So everyone that wasn’t in my class that witnessed that also knew something was up. I’m still traumatized.

I drilled it into my neice that she is to never ask permission to use the restroom she is to only inform the teacher and leave quietly do her business and return. She has chronic bladder infections it's in her IEP ugh we switched schools and never had a problem again. No one gives a shi about IEPs up here 😭

my school actually did something similar, you aren't allowed to use the bathroom in lessons (1hr) or between lessons. this meant I could have 30 minutes of form followed by 2 hrs of lessons after walking to school, then have to deal with 300 people queuing for like 7 stalls (because break and lunch were year dependent). do you want to know how few teachers followed that rule? I was lucky to have a medical exception pass and was chronically dehydrated but there were like 5 teachers that actually followed it. in fact, part of the senior leadership team didn't follow it and eventually no one did because kids would just walk out because they'd rather get isolation then piss themselves.

I always had a doc note on file that said that they had to allow me to go whenever I needed to. because of crap like that.

Oh boy, if i was a student in that class i would have been that kid thats like “you wanna call my parents about me needing to change my tampon? Okay cool! Ill bring my doctor as well so we can educate YOU on the dangers of toxic shock syndrome and why me keeping my tampon in longer isnt safe. Furthermore, do you want me to bleed in your classroom? Because that is what we call a biohazard. Now you cant teach till thats cleaned up. And now your whole day is off schedule so please. Please do try and tell me i only have 3 washroom breaks and lets see where those conversations go.”
