No, we just practiced really hard on our skills to build an actual nail with our hands and then all of a sudden press n stick are showing their ugly heads. Gel x is the easy way out 😒

i love all forms of nails .. i’m that unicorn nail tech that can do it all .. from sculpting nail with a form all the way to gel-x .. my clients just prefer gel-x because they don’t want to be sitting for so long ..

I love all forms of extension but I will say I specialize in acrylic and it’s upsetting how many gel-x techs advertise that acrylic damages your nails and try to say gel-x is a safer form of extension, it’s spreading false information, it’s all safe if performed correctly by the tech and there’s clients for everyone!!! ☺️

I do both gel x and acrylic. I think the gel x hate is forced because not everyone’s lifestyles are fit for acrylic and not everyone’s are fit for gel x. Some prefer one over the other. Like I’m here to service a client not gaslight them with misinformation 😂

gel x is horrible. idk how people like it! it’s not even healthier for my nails. they leave my nails in ruins all the same as acrylic and they don’t last as long :/.

Gel is the future, I love acrylic and I had a hard time removing it from my services but monomer is literally a toxic chemical….. why would I continue to use it when I have safer options now? And I do feel acrylic damages the nail beds, or atleast it’s more likely to cause damage, due to its rigidity, gel bends when hit, the acrylic cracks or fully comes off with your nail still attached

Can’t speak for all nail techs but when I do my own nails gelx feels too thin even tho app time is quicker I prefer acrylic.

I’m a long time acrylics nail tech and I finally ditched them. I hate the smell and the process is so much faster with gel x. Plus it looks so nice and thin.

i think for me, we did so much structure in beauty school and we focused so MUCH on sculpting that ive come to love how much work comes with using builder or acrylic. gel x sometimes… looks too easy since you dont worry AS much about structure. i did a lot of acrylic fills in school so maybe thats why :p ik you can add builder on top of full well nails but still. just me i guess but no hate to those gel x techs ^_^

Not my discussion bc I don’t do nails but I cannot foresee a day I switch from acrylic to gel-x. I honestly prefer even Dip nails over gel-x but it’s all preference

as a beginner i have been loving gel x!!! i do plan to one day master my acrylic application one day, but gel x has been better for my personal health & i find them to last just as long as acrylic!

literally.. as someone who can ALSO do acrylic, builder gel ect i love the freedom gel x gives me, quicker application (somewhat) which means more time for art! the whole reason i started nails in the first place.
