I struggle because I’ve always been taught to use a wide variety of colors when shading one color, as I learn color theory, I learn that it’s okay to stay in a limited range

don’t forget that you’re changing the value here too, not just the saturation. that’s the most important part of why ur shading looks good, though chroma does come after that
