I'm going to disagree here because while ASBAR where horrendous, it was it's own thing and at least planned to be a limited run. King's run lasted for years even before to cut it short and was intended as this grand vision of the character to the degree that it was impacting other books. Like I've read a lot of bad Batman books and, sure, in pure awfulness something like Hush 2 has King's run beat. Yet there has never been a Batman run that made me as angry as that one

MMMMHHHMMMM!!! People don't know the depths of depravity that can be reached! Whenever someone says Tom Kings Batman is the worst ever, I'm like have you read ASBAR before? Batman wants Robin to eat rats to survive in ASBAR. Batman and Black Canary light people on fire and make out sloppy style next to the flames. Like be for real. King's bat burger themed restaurant bothers me but not as much as Miller's Batman calling a traumatized child the R slur.

The reasoning behind Catwoman’s decision is also such bullshit oh you think he’ll stop being Batman if you marry him? Please he didn’t even stop being Batman when he had/for his children. Writers have this obsession in thinking Bruce’s most important relationship is whoever he’s dating/sleeping with at the time when it will ALWAYS be his children. Dick grayson was the second character ever added to the mythos, Bruce has basically never been alone he has always had a partner from the beginning his most important relationship, the one he would sacrifice anything for always has been and always will be being a father/mentor to kids who have lost everything. They wanted to make the #1 situationship get married for comic book sales? sure whatever we all know it wont last but to try and posit selina as his most vital relationship that would change his mission as batman???? oh that’s irritating.

kings run was so bad, I had to FORCE my way through it. there was one issue in city of bane and EVERY SINGLE PANEL said "earlier" like every panel was trying to set something up and the last panel was "now" and it was like cat woman cracking her whip or something. oh I hated it. crazy that he was a counter terrorism officer though.
