You were my “almost”. almost mine, but never really certain. At first, everything felt easy with you. The way we talked, the way you made me feel seen, like I mattered in your world. You came into my life as someone who wanted to pursue me, and I let myself believe in that. Maybe a little too much. At first, I truly believed in you completely, with all of me. Even when my friends had doubts about you, I stood by your side. I defended you, chose you, and trusted you despite everything they were saying. I kept believing in you, even when it was hard. even when something didn’t feel right. But somewhere along the way, things stopped making sense. There were too many gaps, too many questions I tried to ignore. You said you needed time and I believed you. I chose to trust you, even when something inside me felt off. Then I found out about the lies. About you admiring another. And suddenly, everything we had didn’t feel as real as I thought it was. I tried, though. I really did. I tried to fix what was already broken inside me. I told myself maybe you still meant what you said, maybe there was still something worth holding on to. But my thoughts wouldn’t stop. The overthinking, the doubts—they stayed. And it hurt more when I started noticing things. Every time I thought about you, your “friend” would always appear to my mind along the way and it will ruin my mood. And after that… nothing. No effort. No reassurance. Just silence. That’s when I realized, I wasn’t just overthinking. I was slowly losing trust in you. You were someone i certainly loved. Someone I gave everything to. But “almost” isn’t enough to build something real. Not when it’s filled with doubts, confusion, and unanswered questions. Maybe you were real in your own way. Or maybe you were just a version of someone I wanted to believe in. Either way, I’m choosing to let go of what we could have been. Because I deserve something certain, not something that makes me question everything.
