@chinaembassyinmaldives: Today, let's take a closer look at the Chinese standards, craftsmanship and engineering expertise that went into building the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge. The entire project was constructed in full compliance with Chinese standards, engineering codes, technologies and management practices. The arch design of the main bridge incorporates classic elements of traditional Chinese bridge architecture. Its three V-shaped piers look like seagulls spreading their wings, merging seamlessly with the local marine environment. Faced with tough challenges such as complex deep-open-sea conditions, high temperatures and heavy salinity, Chinese builders pressed ahead with technical breakthroughs and delivered the bridge on schedule.
