@inventionontt: Original Video Credit: IG/nrinthraesnrii Blue-green corrosion has built up around this car battery terminal and clamp, forming a thick crystalline deposit. Pouring hot water directly over the connection causes much of the buildup to quickly dissolve and wash away. Battery-terminal corrosion can contain sulfate salts and other compounds produced by reactions involving battery acid, moisture, and the metals around the connection. Many of these deposits are water-soluble, while warmer water generally speeds the dissolving and flushing process. Removing corrosion helps restore a cleaner electrical connection, but water alone does not address whatever caused the buildup. After the terminal is safely cleaned and dried, checking the battery for leakage or venting and protecting the connection with an appropriate terminal protectant can help reduce future corrosion. guys. a car battery doesnt have enough voltage to harm you. it requires around 50 volts to push current through human skin, 30 if youre covered in sweat. a car at MOST puts out 15, so even if you did this while the car is running, and the current traveled up the water (it wont, mythbusters tested this) the most you would feel is an almost imperceptible tingle. source: i work on cars, i know how to google, im well versed in electrical repair and theory, and ive literally leaned directly on both battery posts at the same time with my arm while dripping wet with sweat and it took 15 minutes for me to feel a tingle and notice

gotta add baking soda to the water to neutralize the acid or else youre just washing hydrochloric all over the parts under the battery. think all those moving steering components just slowly corroding. Great times.
