i agree the vibes could be misconstrued but it's not a BL ... all the descriptions say it's a bromance

I just know it is not a BL, they want to have us watching imagining what it could be and I am not longer patient for that....prefer to support Real BL....or just watch a kdrama, but do not play with me...😅 there is no " in between"...and this drama is a bromance..
I liked 10 Dance because it is a Complicated BL....and do not try to sell a Bromance

I love a friendship “bromance” like I don’t see Bloodhounds as anything other than brotherly friends, but then there are things that they make like this show, where they use romance tropes and if you changed the genders of the characters then people would automatically label it as romance, but they could have just not used those tropes and no one would see it that way. Definitely feels queerbaity. 🙃

I'm an old kdrama fan and I thought the people are delulu but after watching it, they do look close😂 It's also the fact that we had many bromance lines in kdramas but you don't always get that vibe, for example, you don't get that vibe in Bloodhounds... And their chemistry? I'm sorry but there are main couples in other kdramas who don't have it😭

The Candle scene and when by the end of the second episode that classic heads drop on shoulders scene make it clear that is NOT just friendship 😅😅😅

y cant ppl appreciate dynamics in a drama without reducing them to “gotta be gay” discourse? it feels invasive to put label on people/characters. to me it’s like a song, we don’t force our own interpretation onto anyone. glad you talked about the “hard worker vs genius” dynamic instead. can we talk about the plot or pacing? interesting plot and aesthetic tho kinda slow so far (only on ep 1)

I haven't seen it because it felt the marketing was making it seem like a romance... which I want cause I love these 2 actors so much. ... however, the queer bating would make me wonder what would have been. Especially as we have been getting some good BLs from the land of KDRAMAs. I will check in to see where its going and will make my decision to watch or not to watch once there are more episodes...

1/I keep seeing people say, “Why do BL fans want Four Hands, Two Sonatas to be a BL so badly? Why can’t you just watch two men being friends without needing them to kiss?”
And honestly? I think that argument completely misses the point.
I have absolutely no problem watching two male characters have a purely platonic friendship. I’ve watched plenty of K-dramas where I saw nothing romantic between the male leads. Racket Boys is one example. Weak Hero Class 2 is another. I never watched Si-eun and the new boys and thought, “They HAVE to be in love.” Their relationships can be incredibly important without being romantic.
And Soul Mate is another perfect example for me. I can look at two people who love each other deeply, who complete each other, who help each other heal, and still not necessarily interpret that love as romantic. Sometimes I see something beyond romance: a bond between two people that completely changes both of their lives.
So no, I am not someone who sees two men standing next to each other and immediately screams “BL!”
And this is exactly why I find the “BL fans see BL everywhere” argument so frustrating.
Because sometimes we see romance because the story itself is using romantic storytelling language.
And there is a HUGE difference.
I don’t need two characters to kiss to believe their relationship is romantic. And I don’t need them to kiss to enjoy a story.
My point is simply that, after two episodes of Four Hands, Two Sonatas, I personally think this story would have had even MORE potential if Kang Pio and Choi Jeong-yo had been written as a romantic relationship.
Not because they are two men.
Because of the way their story is written.

i’m not only irritated at the blatantly obvious queerbaiting, but also the fact that this has opened up so much homophobia. people are literally attacking you for calling out the OBVIOUS bl coded plot/tropes in this show. the way camera lingers when they’re looking at each other, losing track of time together, the touches, fckn falling asleep on each other ? if they changed nothing about this but just replaced one character with a girl, it would be seen 100% as a romance. i don’t like when they do this.
