LOL, this is a “$10 banana” level of being out of touch. Rents in that area have exploded, but they are not $10K for a one-bedroom. And, “you have to sign document that you won’t run a business out of it” as if that’s not common in leases.

Rent as of today at the Avalon Dogpatch, which is across from YC, is 8,180 for a two-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom. A one-bedroom is more along the line of 3,000 to 4,000, which is still expensive but three times less than the price mentioned in the video.

that apartment building is not mediocre and dogpatch was considered an up and coming neighbourhood since at least 2018. I also looked recently and rents were not that high (closer to 6500 for 2 bedroom).

I work nearby there and I live nearby there and I looked at the apartments at the Avalon they are not 10,000 for one bedrooms but they are incredibly small three bedroom apartments in that area are going for 10 to 12,000 a month which is ridiculous but this dude is wrong.
