I hate when people use this conversation in the "funny moments" of this quest... Because it's not at all funny. IT'S TRAGIC. Education or not his fate couldn't have changed. And still the IPC and the rest of the world uses it as leverage to make Aventurine the ultimate guilty of his demise when it was something absolutely out of his CONTROL. "He is like he is because he didn't study. Because he is ignorant. Because he stole. Because he tricks. Like all the Avgin"... IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL. Him and his clan were severely segregated. He didn't have the opportunity to study. And even if he had it it wouldn't have served at all. Meritocracy ONLY works if there is social, medical and economical PERFECT equality. But opresive systems are always going to disguise themselves as meritocracies while at the same time putting stones in the feet of who they want down, and then make them feel guilty for not having the same rythm than the others. And Aventurine knows that studying hard couldn't have make a difference. But still his seelf steem, already bad as it is, had to suffer a hard blow with this convo... Seeing how his younger self doesn't want to become like him, a compulsive gambler working for the same people that killed his clan... Instead of seeing himself as a survivor. And worse, hearing that from one of his most close people, Ratio, somebody who ABSOLUTELY should believe in REAL meritocracy, and whose opinion we know Aventurine craves to be positive... Ouch. It's a triple blow to him.

you know what's sad too, before this sence Aventurine saw how the astral express where ready to shoulder the burden of the debt with the Trabiliazer. Then we saw what Aventurine think people of the ipc will do to him. he is truly alone no matter what.

I absolutely despise people who put this scene in those "hsr core! 🤪" no. His younger self didn't want to end up as a compulsive gambler, which is his future self, he knows studying hard doesn't make a difference, and it came from RATIO. The one person he looks forward to talking to, I know it must've stung like hell

I'm gonna put here what i wanted to put in the original one but what makes this scene so much more vile is the fact that the ipc is using ratio's image, someone who Aventurine is intimately familiar with, saying something he feels extremely self conscious about: that he never had an education. and what adds another disgusting side to this scene is that studying hard wouldn't have made a difference for Aventurine. he was and still is a slave under the ipc. he never had the rights to get any education. he learned how to write copying text from a screen and now he practices his handwriting over and over so people clock him less as "uneducated"

i think its so telling that ratio was paired with kakavasha in his mind. he clearly fears ratio looking down on him for not being educated, even though that’s definitely not the case because of numerous occasions ratio has expressed how genuinely intelligent aventurine is. even after all that reassurance he still fears ratio thinking he should’ve grew up to be better, showing how deep his self hatred and shame is.

I know this is out of context from the video, but I also want to mention that sometimes I feel that Aventurine, despite been extrovert person, I feel he is a lonely character (he does has friends like Dr Ratio, but sometimes he gives me this vibes of loneliness)

Gosh this makes me so sad! Not only is it so awful for Aventurine, but I feel like this part of the quest also reflected on what many people today face. Growing up so many people are told to “study hard” to avoid awful things in their futures. But life is life. Studying cannot prevent everything, and by doing this it puts the blame on the person who did nothing wrong! I’ve always been told to just study hard, but everyday I hear about terrible things happening to people all over, and have even seen things happen to my friends regardless of education.

Nah the IPC genuinely evil for using someone he is subtly close with to fuck with his self image. I chuckled at the IPC colonizing the backrooms to punish employees at the beginning but FUCKKK man, it felt intimate to see someone's insecurities even with the comedic lens to it. Also, why does the IPC have control of the backrooms🧍♂️they never explained it other than 'haha, bad employees get sent here' but for executives like the Stonehearts to be aware of it vaguely is something that surprised me for what is meant to be an urban legend. Nooo my bdp king don't blame yourself....
