I’ve been saying this for yearsssss. It’s so obvious that cartoons are second class citizens who are restricted to working jobs that humans won’t. All the movies have shown this in different ways and coyote vs acme continued that trend, especially with foghorn leghorn straight up being a race traitor

the way Coyote vs ACME could be seen as an allegory for many things, personally one of which I see as how companies (such as big pharmaceutical companies like Pzifer or Johnson and Johnson) quietly testing their early stage products on low-income/marginalized communities, with little to none ethical or legal insights, and then leaving those communities to bear the risk and impacts of those early products while they take the refined product and offer it at a hiked-up price to high-income first world communities, while the refined product is never or minimally offered to the third world low-income communities that were crucial to its creation...... or I'm just reading too much into it who knows lol

OH I GET IT! (I think) It's because animation, as a medium and genre, has never been respected in the eyes of Hollywood, adults, executives, etc, and has always been treated as just a subgenre, or just for kids, or just not true art. In other words, cartoons are treated as second class citizens with no real rights because they are different and not treated equally. Kinda like real life.

YOURE RIGHTTTTTT BTW its most obvious in roger rabbit specifically, the way they say “toon” like its a slur, the way their neighborhood almost gets demolished to make room for a freeway like many black and brown neighborhoods actually were destroyed for freeways, the lack of work equality and how most of them can only get jobs in entertainment, AUGH

you know, the Bendy franchise should be an honorable mention for this. Back in 2017 when the first game was making the chapters, there used to be a lot of AUs and ask-blogs with this premise that quickly evolved into a toon renaissance on tumblr.

Idk about that Chip n Dale movie I don't think it deserves to get grouped with WFRR and Coyote vs ACME, but another animated movie similar to these (though not a live action hybrid) is Cats Don't Dance!! So if you like these I highly recommend checking that out too

The weasels in Who Framed Roger Rabbit are the people who racists(Judge Doom) are okay with because they ‘some of the good ones,’ and in doing so they become intolerant to their own people, which ultimately backfires on them and ruins their social life(them getting killed by Eddie)

I’ve seen folks saying ifs allegory for animal testing, and like… “ok, he’s a coyote, and dafffy is a duck, but they’re sentient and this is allegorically a lot of really heinous and racist shit from our real history.”

It’s because the classic cartoons like Mickey Mouse and friends, looney tunes, etc have always been based on vaudeville and minstrel shows. They’re treated this way in modern stories for the old characters because they’re stand ins for oppressed minorities for THAT REASON specifically. It’s also why they all wear white gloves.
