(Totally not a reupload that I’ll probably delete later…🥹) anyways here’s an explanation as to why I think they’re alike: They don’t fall in love with the version everyone else sees—they fall in love with who that person really is. Everyone expected Raven to become the next Evil Queen, but Dexter only ever saw Raven. Likewise, Kaveh is often dismissed as naive or irresponsible, yet Alhaitham sees the brilliant, compassionate person underneath it all. They show love through the little things. Dexter isn’t the type to make grand speeches. He shows Raven he loves her by standing beside her, believing in her, and supporting every choice she makes. Alhaitham is much the same because he rarely says what he’s feeling outright, but his actions speak for themselves. They love people who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Raven spends so much of her life worrying about her destiny and the expectations placed on her. Kaveh constantly takes on other people’s burdens, even when it hurts him. Dexter and Alhaitham both become people they can lean on. They’re opposites in all the right ways. Dexter is quiet, gentle, and a little awkward, while Raven is bold enough to question the fate of an entire kingdom. Alhaitham is calm, logical, and reserved, while Kaveh is also bold and loud. Their differences don’t push them apart but make them balance each other. They make each other stronger without trying to change each other. Dexter never asks Raven to stop being herself. Instead, he gives her the confidence to keep choosing her own path (in the books, he was literally the reason why Raven decides not to sign the book and even asked about his own destiny to headmaster Grimm before Raven does, which gives her the courage to ask about hers.) Alhaitham doesn’t try to turn Kaveh into someone more logical, and Kaveh doesn’t try to erase Alhaitham’s practicality. They challenge each other, but they still accept each other. They notice the things no one else does. Dexter sees when Raven is scared even when she pretends she’s fine. Alhaitham notices Kaveh’s habits, his struggles, and when he’s pushing himself too hard, even if he doesn’t always say it in the gentlest way. Their relationships are built on trust. Raven trusts Dexter with the fears she’s spent years hiding. Despite all their arguments, Kaveh and Alhaitham always find themselves relying on each other when it matters most. They bring out the best in each other. Raven helps Dexter believe in himself, while Dexter reminds Raven she deserves happiness and isn’t like her mother. Kaveh softens Alhaitham’s detached outlook, and Alhaitham helps Kaveh stay grounded when his emotions get the better of him. They’re each other’s safe place. Raven doesn’t have to pretend around Dexter because she can simply be herself. In the same way, Kaveh and Alhaitham are at their most honest with each other, even if that honesty often comes out through teasing or arguments. They choose each other every day. Raven chooses her own future and destiny, and Dexter chooses to stand beside her through it all. Alhaitham and Kaveh continue sharing their lives despite their differences, choosing to remain important parts of each other’s world. #Genshin #everafterhigh #Alhaitham #Kaveh #haikavehcanon
