I’ve felt like an alien for years, having to copy everyone else around me so that I can fit in better! I’m not diagnose yet but I just know that I am autistic I’ve got many signs and socially very behind I feel like😭😭

yeah, it sucks. i feel worse about it when its like a family gathering because i‘ll just sit there and not talk. i’ll engage in the convo in other ways though like listening or laughing.. but talking is not my strong suit

my social stamina runs out insanely quickly and interacting with people is only ever painfully exhausting and draining. despite this, i still crave close connection and genuine friendship. i’ve gotten myself into this loop of wanting love but not having the energy or guts to face up to it without distancing myself. sometimes the distance is subconscious honestly. being alone is a safe resort for me 😭
