After seeing the backstory with John and his parents and the guardian trying to mold John Jr to be a replacement for Hal I completely understand why he's such an asshole in the show, imagine you do pretty much everything right, save the day over and over even going as far to take down and imprison your mentor despite your bond with him, but instead of being recognized as a loyal hero of the green lantern core the guardians you supported start openly trying to replace you out of fear, I can't wait until we hopefully get an entire episode showing Hals past and his side of things, I hope the thing that got John kicked out of the military wasn't what it seemed
