@cinemasammy: Stuck between Canon & Sony? Here’s my opinion from my experience using both and why I choose the brand that I mainly roll with. #cameragear #Tech #cameratips #photography #videography
Barrier to entry for canon is low but lens prices get you.

I switched from Nikon D750 to a Nikon Z6 Mark iii. Then switched a few months later to Canon R6 Mark ii and I’m in a chokehold, it’s LOVE. I don’t reach for my Nikon anymore.

I have a canon and rented a Sony at my school and Sonys menu is more complicated, and Canon is a bit more simple. But both good cameras, but I preferred the Canon just like to the Sony smaller.

I liked both and wanted a Canon, because of the price for a good camera, until I learned about their lenses. Now I’m looking at a Sony A6700

I started with a Sony A7 III last year and then bought the Sony A7 IV and man, I have to say that I love my camera. Sony taught me how to edit my photos and get great photos. I have to say that I never used a Canon, and I am open to using them. I admit that I like the colors from a Canon. But the reality is that I love my Sony camera, and for me, the editing is not hard.

I think it depends on what you're shooting. to me Sony looks crisp but the photos come out flat. Canon looks silky and the colors are vivid. I think it depends more on your style on which one to choose. Weddings, portraits, wildlife, artistic, I'd go with Canon all day. Street photography, cars, sports, low budget video, I'd go with Sony. For the price point and available accessories, Sony wins for sure. But if money isn't an issue, you can't beat a Canon with RF glass. Only thing better than a Canon is a Hasselblad, but that is an entirely different conversation.

A little skeptical about the Sony vs Canon difference in looks because 98% of us have never looked at a pic or footage and said, “oh that’s definitely shot from a Sony/Canon.” The lens options though are a very big deal. For example, the other day, I looked for a wide angle prime that’s brighter than f/2.8. Canon has 4, but only 1 under $1500. Sony has 13. With 10 that are well under $1,500.

As a creative photographer I prefer Sony for the more flat coloring so I have a good base to build off of
