It the job of the day staffs but I don't understand why they wake up the residents whole night and 4 or 5 am to wash them and bring them directly to the lounge

and then the people complain if theres only been time to wash them at 3pm because theres too many too do + med rounds + feeding etc etc. cant win and thats chronic under staffing.

We have 2 that get up at 5 washed sometimes a shower dressed and down for breakfast!! It’s in there care plan they have always got up at 5!! We have 2 more that get up between 6/7 depending on when they wake up!! Both have showers!! One comes for breakfast the other sometimes chooses to stay in bed watching tv!! That’s it all the others get up with day staff

To be honest the washes r enforced by management.. so the abuse is coming from the higher ups.. just think that in a care home with a floor that occupies 16 residents which are all incontinent and bed bound.. number of staff on the floor r 3 and expect night staff to do 4 washes.. before 8am with documentation and repositioning for all the residents what time do I think that wash is too to take place… and let’s be honest 97 percent of the residents require a 2:1 care

A colleague will wake patients up by 1am to give them a shower so as to not have much to do in the morning but the seniors didn’t see anything wrong with it but they will see something wrong with you pressing your phone so as not to dose off 🤦🏽♀️
