I’m British and genuinely can’t believe they broadcast trials live, like reality tv, in the states. It turns the entire thing into a circus, allows people (with 0 qualifications) to make up wild theories and completely dehumanises the entire trial. It’s disgusting.

if anything, this case showed me how flawed the legal system is. it should never be a jury of peers deciding in the case like this, there should be a panel of unbiased doctors to decide if she did in fact do that becouse of PPP, not a group of people with no medical background

The state still has the burden to prove that she killed her children. You’re incorrect about that. The jury can come back with a not guilty verdict if the state did not meet their burden of proof (beyond a reasonable doubt)

This should have been a conversation about the lack of mental health supports for women, especially post partum mental health. Or a conversation about how mental health supports in general are no where near what they should be in our society. This could have been a conversation about how we need significant investment into mental health research. Instead we got vitriol and accusations.
