Some tips: I got my dress on Vinted for £600 (was £2.2k in the shop I tried it on in), have got decor off fb marketplace, are using fake flowers, have booked grazing boards for food in the day as were super cheap, and we’re making a desert table out of Costco deserts instead of having a cake 😅

I bought my table runners/ sashes from vinted! There’s a lot of wedding sellers on vinted for very good prices - especially if you’re having a smaller wedding.

midweek , twilight ceremony , dress from a second hand/ ex showroom dresses , shein decorations , facebook market place decorations. make sure you ask about hidden costs at venues and ask if you can provide your own snacks etc x

How did you guys decide on £8,000. I don’t want to spend loads on a wedding but I don’t know what’s reasonable to payyy

Winter/autumn weddings!! You aren’t risking the weather & all the suppliers you want to book will have a lot more availability!!

So exciting, mine came to just over 6k and we didn’t do much diy find a venue that you don’t need to spend loads on decorating. I looked at village halls but it was going to cost me more to decorate it to my taste! Also book the more important things first like venue food clothing then fit everything in around your budget. The only diy I did was making flower arrangements!

It's so crazy to hear people say like they spent £8000 on a wedding, We've booked all ours for next august, we've paid the registry office, reception room, decorations, photographer and DJ and thats only cost us £950 all together, we need dress, suit, rings and make up and hair and we've worked out we can do it all for under 1300 all together for the entire wedding 🥰

Hey! I’m a wedding coordinator. I’d recommend a weekday, off-peak twilight wedding. Just those 3 things alone can really really knock the price down. I would also recommend venues that have unlimited corkage and allow external caterers (without a fee). This does depend on how important food is for you, if you are wanting a traditional 3-course-meal I’d recommend a venue that does catering in house (however this is arguably the largest cost). A venue where you are ONLY paying for the venue is what I would recommend looking for, and then for food try to only have one meal for guests. As it’s a twilight wedding, just wedding cake and maybe some snacks in the evening will be perfectly fine. As for decor, I’m not sure where you are based, but they do have wedding carboots not too far from the midlands. This year was February. All you need for table decor is water/LED candles, bud vases, table numbers, menus and place settings. The colour linen you choose for napkins and tablecloths can really elevate the look and definitely something I would look into based on your theme. I hope this helps! X

I got my dress of vinted for £15. our photographer and wedding cake were a wedding present from family and we got married in my aunts garden. the whole thing cost us under 2k as friends and family helped us set up and everything so much and the band were people we knew. we bought a house 7 months later so we were in a pretty similar situation

We got our table centre pieces from Facebook! Most people sell them afterwards, and then you could sell on once you have used them too x

May not be helpful if you are set having the wedding in the UK but what’s saving us the most money is doing it abroad !!

im planning my wedding budget is £10-12k. I would really recommend having reception ect at a village hall or community centre. its more affordable and you can diy it and have a lot more control and say. the village hall we are looking at is £25 an hour!
