@newsnexussa: Mechanic arrested for allegedly impersonating RTI officer and driving state vehicle A mechanic has been arrested in Jozini, KwaZulu-Natal, after allegedly driving an RTI vehicle that had been booked into a workshop for repairs while under the influence of alcohol. The mechanic, who was intercepted with his girlfriend and three friends, faces charges including impersonating a traffic officer, abuse and malicious damage of state property, driving without the owner’s consent, drunk driving and driving without a licence. MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma says the workshop was legally responsible for safeguarding the state vehicle but failed to do so.
