@nourishingapothecary: If you’re trying to conceive, you’ve probably heard of CoQ10 or ubiquinol. But why do I recommend it so often in fertility? Ubiquinol is the reduced form of CoQ10 and plays an important role in mitochondrial energy production. This becomes particularly interesting in fertility because our reproductive cells have significant energy requirements. Egg development is particularly energy intensive, and mitochondrial function is one of the reasons CoQ10 has been so widely studied in reproductive health. The product I mention in this video is Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol, which is one of the ubiquinol supplements I commonly recommend in clinic. You can find Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol on the Nourishing Apothecary website at www.nourishingapothecary.com Of course, fertility supplementation should still be individualised. More supplements are not automatically better, and what I recommend depends on the person, their fertility history, pathology, medications and what else they are already taking. This is a snippet from my first full Nourishing Apothecary YouTube episode, where I break down what I want people to understand BEFORE they start trying to conceive. Search Nourishing Apothecary on YouTube to watch the full episode. #Ubiquinol #CoQ10 #Fertility #TryingToConceive #TTC
