Já aconteceu comigo logo no início, mas no meu caso, era ignorância mesmo. A mesma agulha que eu aspirava o produto, também era usada para aplicar.

The Old Harbor before the war Long before Rotterdam became the modern port city we know today, the Old Harbor was at the heart of Rotterdam’s maritime life. There was already a jetty here in 1351, making it one of the oldest harbor areas in the city. For centuries, ships sailed right into the centre, while merchants, sailors and dockworkers filled the quays. The Spaanse Kade, on the eastern side of the harbor, was part of this historic waterfront. Its name dates back to 1608, when the Spanish commander Ambrosio Spinola arrived here during negotiations surrounding the Twelve Years’ Truce. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the harbor was surrounded by merchant houses, warehouses, hotels and cafés. Goods were unloaded from ships and moved through the narrow streets, making the waterfront a lively part of everyday Rotterdam. Then came 14 May 1940. The German bombardment devastated the centre of Rotterdam, and much of the area around the Old Harbor was destroyed. Where generations had lived and worked beside the water, there was suddenly rubble. But Rotterdam chose not to simply recreate its lost past. The area remained largely open for decades, and there were even plans to fill in the harbor and build a major road. Instead, in the 1980s, architect Piet Blom transformed the area with his radical vision. Today, the historic harbor is surrounded by cafés, restaurants and one of Rotterdam’s most famous landmarks: the yellow Cube Houses, built between 1982 and 1984. It is a remarkable contrast: a harbor with centuries of history, now framed by some of the most futuristic architecture in the city.
