@saucedgardens: CITRUS GALL WASP CONTROL (Part Two) So you’ve watched Part One of our series on citrus gall wasp and you’ve chopped out some branches. Well done! 👍🏻 Now it’s time to carefully dispose of those branches, so the larvae inside them don’t hatch, re-infest your trees and then infect all your neighbour’s trees at well! 🏡 Solarising is a really key step to controlling the general population of citrus gall wasp in suburbia 🏘️ Essentially, you are trapping the larvae in a sealed bag and cooking them in the sun, preventing them from spreading any further. Whilst I’ve suggested 4 weeks, if the weather is cooling down where you are, try to leave them solarising for 6-8 weeks. Just to make sure they are proper dead! ☠️ In the next part of this series, we talk about what to do to control citrus gall wasp as we head into winter, spring and summer 🌺 Stay tuned! #urbangarden #backyardgarden #ediblegarden #gardeninspiration #fruittrees
