I got hired on as a "material handler" (glorified forklift driver) and became one of the best fabricators/welders in our shop...Forget everything you learn in school and learn from the people in your shop!👌 👍

ROB BLACK THE”WELDER”👨🏿🏭🔥 :
I’d go to School first and than if i wanted to get into the Union I’d go through the Apprenticeship Program. That’s exactly what i did and i turned out good. 20 yrs in the Union and ion Regret going through it at all. You’ll learn more than just welding.

you can enter a union apprenticeship knowing NOTHING about the trade. it is far easier to build good habits, than to break bad habits.

Apprenticeship. Find the company that pays for it. How I became a plumbing. You get your OJT's hours also. I was a green ditch digger, floor sweeper for months before I touched a tool.
