I worked with poor "LEGAL" migrant farmers picking vegetables, they got a visa, worked hard, applied for a green card with some of the money they made, and even got citizenship... So if they can do it "LEGALLY" and appreciate/respect our system, why can't others ? Why can't we regulate immigration numbers ? Do you want expanded social programs, then you want "LEGAL" immigration since successful social programs require stable and predictable demands for services !

In the mid-1970s, corporate social responsibility was to support citizenship for the employees who were going through the process. That stopped in the early 1980’s. Why, cheap labor. Congress had the ability to create a better system but neither side did. That's who should take the blame for a system that is not working.
