I think the coopetition concept is why China can grow very fast. The same concept cannot be done/practice in western countries or even my own country due to competition mentality

The supply chain nearby helps to reduce time and economy of scale helps to reduce cost. Also encourages r&d. More skilled workers with specific skill sets are easily available. Competitive environment pits companies on their toes to be the best. There are downsides as well. Maybe you can share more on the possible downsides.
