Her faith in winterfell and the stark name is what got everyone on board to take it back from the boltons, and obviously she won the battle of the bastards for them. She was smart, learnt how to play the game well from her suffering, and understood the norths need to be independent more than anyone. Jon should never have become king at the end of s6, he didn’t even want it and Sansa was so locked in politically at that point it made no sense she had to wait till end of s8

Say what you want about young Sansa being gullible when she was in King's Landing, she LEARNED, SHE SURVIVED. Her time in the south made her realize that while honor and loyalty makes you a leader worth following, it can also get you killed when paired with naïveness. The Starks are the only people that was on the right side throughout history. Jon and Robb would have both been good kings. Robb should’ve ruled the north. And Jon and Daenerys should’ve both set the iron throne. Nobody in the north would’ve followed Jon if they knew it was a possibility Robb was still alive. The north suffered to much out of everybody so independent was the best thing they could do💯

One major difference in context is Robb declared the north independent bc the king (Joffrey) at that time had killed their father. But Sansa wanted the North independent under Dany even tho Dany had done nothing but love Jon and help the north with her army and dragons

Robb is in active war against the south, nobody wanted the south ruling over them and bending the knee would've resulted in his death probably. He had enough force to fight. Jon's and Sansa's situations are similar but they didn't have any power to defend themselves when needed. Sansa wouldn't have been killed if she bent the knee tho. Sansa making the north independent should've led to other kingdoms, especially Dorne, doing the same but we got what we got. Later kings probably will just force the north to bend the knee again. And Jon just wanted to be king
