I just checked my sons phone and he’s 17! Checked my 18 year olds phone and he just left for college. Idc if I’m called strict, boys easily fall through the cracks just because they’re boys and the world see our black boys as men.

My mom used to check my phone until I was almost 18 and now that I’m almost grown and I watched how fast my friends had to grow up because their parents didn’t parent enough. I’m so appreciative for the certain things she did. She also used to take my phone at night so I can actually sleep instead of being on it all night.

My phone didn’t get checked as a preteen/teenager - I was “dating” a 30 year old man with 2 kids when I was 16 and “sexting” when I was 14 on kik… so yes check them phones and watch out for your child.

A lot of new parents are just giving kids what they wanted when they were kids. In some cases that’s great, in others is extremely irresponsible. But ultimately and unfortunately they’re going to learn the hard way why we had these boundaries set for us too late

We see so many kids gone because they were talking to someone they shouldn’t have or do something they shouldn’t have been doing . But if something happens to your kid everyone first thing to say is where was the parents. People are miserable.
