Got a US done, honestly wasn’t bad at all. The horror stories on TT make it seem like it’s terrible. It’s not. I’ll do anything to make sure my body is healthy

I was 19 and not sexually active when I had my first transvaginal u/s and the tech was frustrated with me and kept telling me to “RELAX.” As a 45 year old I would have no problem saying no to this now, but at 19 I just endured the pain and embarrassment. I am grateful for folks like you empowering patients to have agency and consent in their care.

The tech was visibly irritated with me when I panicked and denied one of these at 18. I had no idea that was even an option so I thought I was walking into just an abdominal ultrasound.

I think docs and techs need to understand that even though you do this everyday, procedures like this are extremely unnerving and anxiety provoking for the average woman. I had 2 of these 6 wks apart and then they scheduled me for another which they were going to put a needle in my uterus and inject saline first, then do the transvag ultrasound. They told me to take Tylenol beforehand. It feels like the mean girls club- they act like we’re overreacting by being anxious about this. I’m so sick of them downplaying these types of procedures. We’re expected to just lay there and shut up and pretend we’re ok w it. Most of us are absolutely not ok. Docs and techs need to be better about understanding that these procedures are a big deal for the average person. They need to stop acting like it’s nothing.

I recently had a bisalp and my surgeon took pictures of all my repro organs and let me keep it. Coolest thing ever! I was very surprised with how lumpy and white the ovaries were though. I understand why they are lumpy, but I didn't expect it to be THAT lumpy

What I don’t like is through perimenopause and menopause. I have a great one prolapse of everything. But I don’t like is what I feel just after the opening, which would be my rectum bulging the vaginal wall. I don’t imagine there’s anything you can do about it, but it’s very uncomfortable.

I tell them no every time. It's 2026, we have other imaging modalities that can answer the question w/o being invasive, traumatizing, or assaulting to the patient.
