Two teens from Liverpool have gone viral for shutting down a right-wing activist with “show me the stats” after he claimed Scotland’s Glasgow and Edinburgh had been “overrun” by Somali drug dealers. In the clip, 18-year-old right-wing conservative activist Gregory Moffitt, known online as Young Bob, claimed the two Scottish cities have been “overrun by a bunch of Somali drug dealers.” Moffitt is a self-styled Christian nationalist who describes himself as a “pro-life remigration activist,” and is known for staging public debates about immigration and deportation, copying the "change my mind" format popularized by American conservative activists, according to Byline Times. In the video, two teens from Liverpool, Cait and Liam, challenged Moffitt’s claims. “Have you been to Edinburgh? Who told you that? Where are you getting this information?” Cait asked. Her friend Liam then repeatedly told him, “Show us the stats” and “get your phone out.” Moffitt then said he cannot provide statistics for an anecdote but can show them his source. However, the source or statistics are not shown in the viral clip. The exchange has since become a reaction meme, with people using “show me the stats” to challenge unsupported claims online. “I've no idea who these legends are but I'm using this to comment under every bigots post from now on,” one viral repost read. Cait and Liam later identified themselves on social media after people began trying to find the pair. The footage came from a longer street debate about mass deportations in Liverpool filmed several weeks earlier by Project Britannia. The exchange comes as tension has increased over immigration and racism in Scotland. In June, police in Scotland said people in Glasgow were attacked because of the color of their skin during demonstrations in the city. 10 days later, five men were injured in a series of attacks across Edinburgh.
