Listen, I don’t like Trump anymore, but if this works out, this is a good deal. The last place I would ever take advice is from the Democrats to try and lower gas prices when their states have some of the highest gas prices when one of them administration had higher gas prices in history.

This is a good thing! Venezuela will become reliant on US buying oil. This gives us leverage in future negotiations. We can’t be short sighted on the benefits this provides in 10 years

The amount of money that’s going to take to get Venezuela to produce and refine their oil is going to be insane. Gas companies will still pass that price onto us.

But it requires a $100 Billion investment and at least two-years to rebuild the oil infrastructure in Venezuelan. And with the Government being unstable there, a change could mean contracts being voided, just as Billion dollar Chinese and Russian contracts and investments were voided to make this deal. So we'll see what actually happens after the headlines fade.
