Funny experience the other day.. I’ve wanted extensions before. Length, drama, fun. But I kept talking myself out of it.. ‘too much maintenance’ ‘too expensive’ ‘no time to keep up with them’ Yet I never could stop thinking about them. It wasn’t about the extensions. Not really. It was two voices in my head, arguing. My own beliefs contradicting each other. When I finally realized that voice telling me they were too much work, money or time.. she’s not my voice. I create how much I have of both. I’m limitless. My nervous system just didn’t believe that yet.. so I showed it something different. Turns out, it was my moms voice I was hearing. Not because she did anything wrong.. we just inherit each other. Their fears, their protection, their survival instincts.. passed down like DNA whether we ask for it or not. Not a blame thing. Just a human thing. We all carry someone else’s voice until the day we recognize it isn’t ours anymore. Once you see it clearly.. you get to choose. Keep carrying it, or set it down. We experience the same shift with tattoos. You’re not just altering your body, you’re doing it with new beliefs about yourself, time, money, acceptance, whatever the story was. Whatever yours is, you can change it if it no longer fits. Take your first gut instinct. Embody it. Own it without flinching, until your nervous system catches up to your new reality. Your body doesn’t know the difference between living an experience and replaying it in your head. Go give it something new to obsess over. You’ll love it here 🦋
