We need prison reform. We are behind in how other countries handle crime. The U.S. doesn’t put any money into preventing crime. Prisons are there for profit and that’s it. Prison doesn’t rehabilitate people.

I did close to 30 years and did not do my job the way you are describing that all Correctional Officers do their jobs. Never one day did I 'DO MY 8 AND HIT THE GATE " though. I enforced the rules and held inmates accountable for bad or criminal behavior however gave them their respect when they deserved it. And guess what......As strict as I was regarding the rules I had the respect of the majority of the inmate population. You are misrepresenting the majority of Correctional Staff. I saw and was involved in numerous riots during my career and not one was caused because of Staff disrespect or abuse!!!! It was always racially or gang motivated so at least attempt to tell alittle of the truth...

My uncle was a guard & all the inmates loved him, he would give a bloke a smoke, turn his back when asked (pedos) just a good bloke, he always told me “people make mistakes no need to make them suffer more”
