@techserks: Most people use Claude Code like a chatbot. That’s leaving a LOT of capability on the table. 🤯💻 Here are 8 smarter ways to use Claude Code for real development workflows 👇 1️⃣ Explore the codebase first Before asking Claude to change anything, let it understand the architecture, key files, dependencies and where the important logic lives. 2️⃣ Use Git history as extra context Claude can inspect commits and previous implementations to understand why something was built a certain way, not just what the current code looks like. 🔍 3️⃣ Use CLAUDE.md for persistent project instructions Store things Claude should consistently know, such as: 📁 Project structure 💻 Coding conventions 🧪 Testing commands ⚙️ Common workflows 📋 Architecture guidance That means less repeating yourself every session. 4️⃣ Plan first, code second For bigger changes, don’t immediately tell Claude to start editing files. Ask it to: 🧠 Analyse the problem 🗺️ Propose an approach ⚖️ Explain trade-offs 📂 Identify affected files ✅ Then implement the approved plan 5️⃣ Let Claude test its own work This is one of the biggest upgrades. Give it access to feedback loops: 🧪 Run tests 🔎 Check logs 📸 Review screenshots ✅ Run linters and type checks 🔁 Fix problems and retest The more ways Claude has to verify its work, the less you need to manually catch every mistake. 6️⃣ Use memory and persistent context intelligently Keep recurring preferences, conventions and useful project information available so Claude doesn’t need the same explanation every time. 🧠 7️⃣ Automate repetitive work with the Claude Agent SDK Claude doesn’t have to stay inside a terminal conversation. You can integrate agentic workflows into: ⚙️ Scripts 🔄 CI/CD pipelines 🏢 Internal tools 🐛 Issue workflows 📊 Logs and analysis 🤖 Automated developer processes 8️⃣ Run multiple Claude workflows in parallel For larger projects, one Claude session doesn’t have to do everything. You could have separate workstreams for: 🔍 Research 🧪 Testing 💻 Implementation 📝 Documentation 🚀 Deployment This is where AI-assisted development starts becoming much more powerful. The biggest lesson? ❌ Don’t just ask Claude to “write some code”. Instead: 🔍 Explore 🧠 Add context 📋 Plan 💻 Execute 🧪 Verify ⚙️ Automate 🚀 Parallelise Claude Code gets much better when you treat it like an agent working inside a development system, not just another AI chat window. Which of these are you already using? 👇 🔖 Save this because I’ll be sharing more Claude Code workflows, Skills, MCP servers and AI development tools. #techserks #claudecode #claude #anthropic #aiagents
