@garyvee: Some kids are getting grown up way too late. This issue of "grown late" is well-intended, but too many parents are treating their 22-year-old son like he's 9. We have over-coddled a generation. Kids need consequences, ramifications, and boundaries. That's how kids learn! Not, "mommy and daddy will protect you," then you send them out into the big, bad, real world...and then they're crying about everything, blaming their job or their bosses.

The goal of parenting shouldn’t be to make life easy for your children, but to make sure they’re capable when life gets difficult. Responsibility and consequences are part of that preparation. 👏

I’m 19, self employed and own a construction and detailing business but still live at my moms by choice. It’s so annoying though cause I’m constantly getting questioned or asked about stuff that isn’t her business.

Kids need room to struggle, make mistakes, and deal with the consequences. Protecting them from every hard thing doesn’t prepare them for adulthood.
