My Summer Tips for Lipoedema & Lymphoedema 1️⃣ Compression — pop your compression garments in the fridge or freezer before wearing them. It really helps in the heat. 2️⃣ Cooling spray — get a water spray bottle and spray your legs and/or compression garments. This can help cool you down and reduce swelling. 3️⃣ Hydration & electrolytes — drink plenty of water and keep your electrolytes up. 4️⃣ Elevate your legs whenever you can — drain, drain, drain! 5️⃣ Water is your best friend — swim, walk in water, or use the shower head to help cool your legs and body down. Summer can be really harsh for anyone living with Lipoedema and Lymphoedema. The heat naturally increases swelling, so I also try to keep sugars and carbs as low as possible to avoid adding to the discomfort. These are the tips I stick to every single year. No, it’s not easy — but remember, you did not do this to yourself. It’s a disease, and sadly one that is still misunderstood by many. Keep up your 1-2-3 decongesting routine — it genuinely helps with swelling, pain, mobility, and keeping your volume down. If anyone has any other summer tips, please share them in the comments? 👉 Ready to explore the journey?
