@netwatchglobal1: 31//AUG//2026 | BREAKING: U.S. Treasury data shows Japan held $1.117 trillion in U.S. securities in June, leading all foreign holders. Britain ranked second with $940 billion, while China held $633 billion, roughly half its 2013-2014 peak. Belgium reported $483 billion, but Treasury figures track custody locations, not necessarily ultimate owners. The dataset covers Treasury bills, notes, and bonds. Japan has remained the largest foreign holder since overtaking China in 2019. In late July, the United States supported Japan’s yen stabilization effort by selling euros instead of forcing Tokyo to sell Treasuries, helping avoid added pressure on U.S. borrowing costs. Which country’s Treasury holdings surprise you most? #unfrezzmyaccount #creatorsearchinsights #mapanimation #world

SocialAutopsy :
Basically, they buy American debt. American national debt is mostly made up of treasury securities(bonds and notes). They’re official promises that the U.S government will pay back cash at a specific date with regular interest. Foreign countries own about 23% of the total U.S national debt. Countries like Japan and China buy these bonds because the U.S financial system is stable and grantees a reliable return. But the vast majority of U.S debt is owed to the American people, rebate funds, and the U.S government itself.
